It takes a long time to grow old friends, and at least for me, most of my old friends live all around the world now that we've grown into our lives and careers. So it takes the initiative and a team effort to coordinate plans to get together. Other times, your friend Melissa says she rented a lakehouse in Maine this weekend and invited us (including Hazey) to join her on a whim! That's how we found Horn Pond in Acton, Maine.
The pond is split down the middle between New Hampshire and Maine. It is a 227-acre pond. The lake is spring-fed and fed by the outflows of Great East Lake to the north and Wilson Lake to the east.
Lake life is a great way to unplug from the media/work and connect with nature and people.
Spending the day outside and on the water is great because everyone has their own favorite thing to do. Anything from fishing, swimming, tanning, floating, and kayaking, or if you're really into it, you can get a jetski or do some water tubing behind a speedboat. Keep the grill going all day, and sit by the fire at night; what more can you ask for? We went kayaking to the other side of the pond.
And then we went for a quick swim to cool off.

I stayed by the grill with Hazey watching over the burgers and hot dogs. Jan and Bob held down the fort on the fishing front, and we all had a great day! Here is a bonus video of Hazey jumping off a rock into a lake:
Yvonne-spiration: When planning group trips, Yvonne almost always said, "I am going to this place on these dates; whoever wants to come with me is more than welcome!"
