In late September, as the cold air was coming into the northeast, I thought about the fact that I had not gone to our apartment complex pool (or swam in a pool at all) the whole year! So, it was decided that the Labor Day/Annual Yvonne's Travel trip would be somewhere where we had a private pool to enjoy with Hazey, and no worries. We found exactly that in Orlando, FL - a perfect, dog-friendly house with a huge backyard, and luxurious custom pool with all sorts of awesome features - all for the price of a hotel.
As you can see, there was plenty of sunshine! Enough to get our fix before settling into the New England winter approaching in a few months.
We spent the whole first day just swimming and playing in the pool with Hazey...
After that, next on the list, as always, is a dog-friendly activity, and we certainly lucked out! We found Paddle with Pups, a paddle-boarding company that encourages guests to bring their dog with them, and they even bring their dog and (gigantic) bunny. The tour guide was cool and knowledgeable and took some great pictures.
Unfortunately, we didn't have luck finding a dog-friendly restaurant, but there are many great food options in the area. On the last day, the weather changed; it provided a perfect moment of Yvonne-spiration.
If you knew Yvonne, you'd know she would take any chance to swim in the rain, so you already know, we did exactly that...until it turned into a thunderstorm. After a couple of scorching hot days, it was nice...and a fond memory of my mom.
